The Fernhurst Centre is both a Community Centre and Internet Cafe run and managed entirely by volunteers. It has lots to offer including:

A varied refreshment menu including  Cappuccino -  Latte - Cafetiere - Fruit Teas etc
Broadband internet, WI-Fi - no booking required
All computers have a wide range of software
A3 colour printer
Laminating facilty
A range of courses both IT and leisure


Don't forget - Broadband usage  is Free after Three!  Printing charges wi
ll still be made.

 

You can also recycle your used ink cartridges at the Fernhurst Centre.  The Centre is working with Cartridge World and KRT computers to help keep the environment ‘Green’.  You will also be helping the Centre.  Ink cartridges only no toners please.

on 2nd Monday evening of each month at 7.30 pm

Have you always meant to read that book?  Then why not join one of our friendly, informal Reading Groups. 

The Evening Reading Group meets at 7.30pm in the Fernhurst Centre on the second Wednesday of each month.

The Daytime Reading Group
meets on  the first Tuesday of each month in the Fernhurst Centre  at 1.45 pm.
In each Group  and members of the Group take it in turns to choose a new book for each meeting.

How to Sell on ebay: eBay is a popular auction website where individuals can buy and sell new and second-hand items. This demonstration will show you how to sell a single item on eBay and that there is nothing to fear, so long as you follow a few simple steps, and, of course, remember it is just fun! Book now for this session on Thursday 29 January 2015 -  7.30 - 9.30 pm (£10) (this course full) but new dates are Tuesday 24 February or Tuesday 24 March at 7.70 - 7.30.

iPad - The Next Steps: If you have mastered the basics this session will help you to get really smart with your iPad - includes iCloud - Skype - Facetime and connecting to your pc with iTunes. Wednesday 25 February 10.30 am - 12.30 pm. £10.
New! iPad - Digital Photography. Taking pictures with your iPad, putting your pics into Albums, editing photos using the Photos app. Managing your pics on your iPad, pc and iCloud. It will also include a review of some selected Photo apps available in the App store.  Monday 13 April 10.30 am - 12.30 pm £10.
If you haven’t got and iPad but have a Tablet using the Android system we have a course for you.  'An Introduction to using your Android Tablet'.  Monday 5 and 12 January 2015 - 2 - 4 pm. This is a course and is proving as popular as the course for  iPads so book now to avoid disappointment.  Please note that this course is not suitable for the Kindle Fire or phones using the Android system
iPad - An Introduction: Learn how to get the most from your new iPad.  Setting up, connectin to WiFi and much more besides. Monday 23 and 30 March 1030 am  - 12.30 pm 2 x 2 hour sessions at £20.
