The Fernhurst Centre is both a Community Centre and Internet Cafe run and managed entirely by volunteers. It has lots to offer including:
A varied refreshment menu including Cappuccino - Latte - Cafetiere - Fruit Teas etc
Broadband internet, WI-Fi - no booking required
All computers have a wide range of software
A3 colour printer
A range of courses both IT and leisure
Help Point - free telephone direct to Council Offices to report problems or request assistance.
Don't forget - Broadband usage is Free after Three! Printing charges will still be made.
Have you recently bought an iPad and would like a little help - we have a new course dates this autumn for 'An Introduction to using your iPad' setting up - connecting to WI Fi and much more besides. Two 2 hour sessions at £20. Tuesday 16 and 23 September 11 am - 1 pm. Book now to secure your place on this very popular course.
If you haven’t got and iPad but have a Tablet using the Android system we have a course for you. 'An Introduction to using your Android Tablet'. Monday 22 and 29 Septmber 2.30 - 4.30 pm. This is a course and is proving as popular as the course for iPads so book now to avoid disappointment. Please note that this course is not suitable for the Kindle Fire or phones using the Android system.
Recycle your IT equipment for charity: If you have recently upgraded your IT equipment or are thinking you might, the Fernhurst Centre will recycle your old computer equipment for charity. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org (putting RECYCLING in the subject line) with the details of your laptops, keyboards, desktop PCs, screens & mobile phones and we will offer free local collection or arrange for you to bring the equipment into the Centre. All personal data on devices will be removed and destroyed by professionals during the recycling. Click here for more information.
Painting with Wool’ - An Introduction to The Art of Woven Tapestry. Weaving can be used to produce beautiful wall hangings using a simple frame loom. Traditional and 3D techniques will be explored to produce a “woven notebook”. All equipment will be provided, including a simple frame loom which can be kept (£7.50 per frame). If possible bring a notebook and camera). The course is suitable for both beginners and those who have some knowledge and wish to build on their skills. Five weeks from Monday 6 October - Monday 3 November pm - 4 pm at a cost of £50

This demonstration will show you how to sell a single item on eBay and that there is nothing to fear, so long as you follow a few simple steps, and, of course, remember it is just fun!
